Mama Comfort Belly Balm is formulated to hydrate the rapidly expanding and stretched skin accommodating a growing baby to try preventing or minimizing the appearance of reddish lines AKA stretch marks. The comforting blend of cocoa and mango butters, and calendula infused in argan oil, babassu and apricot kernel oils supplemented with rosehip seed oil and vitamin E supports hydration, protects, heals, strengthens, and promotes elasticity of the epidermis, the top layer of skin. Vitamin E bring its own antioxidant properties to the blend. A small amount of carnauba wax thickens the mix while adding a silky feel and extra protection. No essential oils are used making it a fragrant-free and safe balm to use, especially during the early “smell sensitive” stage of pregnancy.
This gentle skin-soothing and softening balm also helps if the ever-increasing skin on the belly or other parts of the body itches or feels irritated since moisturizing brings relief from discomfort and heals dry skin. Frequently using an emollient benefits skin and makes it more supple and healthy. Although it may not completely prevent the appearance of stretch marks, it aids in making them less visible. If they appear, most stretch marks fade, or disappear after the baby is born. To provide the most beneficial effect, the best time to use a hydrating balm is while skin is still damp as after a shower or bath, giving it an ample time to soak in before getting dressed.
